Liah Chantal Catanese
Liah C. Catanese is a Rising Star among the legal elite of South Florida and the southeast. She has significant experience in a variety of multi-party litigation. She represents clients who are victims of catastrophic personal injuries, wrongful death and medical malpractice. Ms. Catanese is the founder and head of the construction division of Alan Goldfarb, P.A. that includes construction defect cases, jobsite accidents, and roadway construction accidents. She also handles a range of complex litigation, in state and federal court, including toxic-torts, tractor-trailer accidents, products liability suits and maritime-related incidents. She has played a pivotal role in the most recognized cases in south Florida and the east coast, such as a tower crane accident in New York, the Big Dig collapse in Boston, the Miami-Dade Parking Garage Collapse in Miami, notable cruise ship accidents, products liability cases against Ford and Toyota and cases involving mold infested buildings. Ms. Catanese has fought for and won clients numerous multi-million dollar settlements that not only compensate her clients but bring effective change to the laws that protect society.
Ms. Catanese was named as a Florida Superlawyer Rising Star for 2010, 2011, and 2014. She was named one of Florida’s Outstanding Young Lawyers by “Top Attorneys” in 2011 and Top Attorneys in the Miami Area for 2015. Ms. Catanese and Alan Goldfarb, P.A. were nominated as the Daily Business Review’s 2013 Most Effective Lawyers. She was also awarded the National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40” for 2014 and 2015. She was also named “10 Best Attorneys” by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys for 2015. Ms. Catanese is a former board member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dade-County Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Florida Justice Institute.
Ms. Catanese is a native of Atlanta, Georgia who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami School of Law. She began her career in the public sector where she served in the office of Senator Hillary Clinton in New York, staffed political races in Michigan, promoted bills affecting immigrant rights for a lobbying firm in Washington D.C., and worked as a Florida Bar Fellow for Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC), providing legal assistance to victims of violent crimes and human trafficking. Ms. Catanese joined Alan Goldfarb, P.A. in 2007.
